$650 raised by Moran VFD at Fall Fun event

The City of Moran Volunteer Fire Department raised a little over $400 at the first annual Fall Fun in the Park last Saturday evening, and a $250 donation received prior to the event brought the total to just over $650.

“We had a full house most of the night,” said organizer Michelle Taggart. “The kids seemed to have a blast. The music, games, candy, food, hayride, and contests were all a hit!”

The hot dog eating contest was won by Jeff Martin, who woofed down five hot dogs in the two-minute time limit, while Sabrina Batten won the hot pepper eating challenge.

“It was an amazing turnout, and we had so much fun!” Taggart said. “The hayride was a big hit, and is definitely something that we will do again next year.”

Taggart said that she was thankful to those who volunteered time, talents, and funds, and to everyone who came to the event.
