The Moran Independent School District has welcomed four new faculty members for the 2021-22 school year, including three who are in their first year as full-time teachers.

New faculty members are Minnie Denson, Alyssa Gregg, Kassiah Hudson, and Bryce Hughes.

Minnie Denson

At the high school level, Denson has taken over as agriculture teacher and FFA advisor. Denson graduated in May from Texas A&M–Commerce with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Science and Technology with a teacher certification option.

“Since joining the MISD family, I have found a loving and supportive environment,” Denson said. “Everyone is welcoming and helpful. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store.”

Denson served as a substitute teacher in the Union Hill ISD near Gilmer while obtaining her degree and did her student teaching at Hawkins High School.

A 2017 graduate of Harmony High School in East Texas, Denson was active in FFA projects,  specifically showing pigs and heifers. She helped found the Damon FFA chapter, writing the chapter’s constitution and serving as its first president.

Alyssa Gregg

Gregg is in her first year teaching Pre-K and kindergarten after working as a paraprofessional for three years.

“I am so glad I was able to join the Moran ISD family,” Gregg said. “I can’t wait to see where this year leads us.”

Gregg earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Science from Tarleton State in 2017. That summer, she participated in a Study Abroad program in Africa, gaining an introduction to the biology of southern Africa and studying wildlife management and conservation.

Gregg has served as a teacher’s aide in the Eastland ISD, working with Pre-K through fifth grade. She also served as a substitute teacher at Eastland and Ranger schools.

Kassiah Hudson

Hudson is returning to her hometown after two years with the Breckenridge ISD, where she taught seventh grade science and served as head volleyball coach. At Moran, she is teaching fourth grade through seventh grade science and fourth and fifth grade math in addition to junior high and high school physical education.

“This is my third year of teaching,” said Hudson, a 2010 Moran graduate. “I am excited to give back to the community that I grew up in.”

Hudson graduated from UT-Arlington in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in kinesiology with a minor in psychology. She earned her teacher’s certification through the iTeach Texas Alternative Certification Program. She is certified for core subjects grades 4-8 and physical education for early childhood through 12th grade.

During her time in college, she served as a junior high girls basketball coach at Lake Country Christian School in Fort Worth.

Bryce Hughes

Hughes is also in his first year of teaching, providing instruction for fourth through sixth grade English Language Arts and Reading as well as fourth and fifth grade Fine Arts.

“I’m excited to be a part of the Moran faculty this year,” he said. “The faculty is great, and I am excited about the rest of the school year.”

A graduate of Morgan High School, Hughes earned a degree in Theater Arts from the University of North Texas. He earned his teaching certificate from the iTeach Texas Alternative Certification Program.
