Moran seventh through 12th grade students who have met certain criteria will be rewarded with a trip to Six Flags Over Texas on Friday, May 20 as the school year begins winding down.

Principal Jo Hise said qualifying for the trip required meeting academic and attendance standards.

“They couldn’t have any unexcused absences,” Hise said. “They could only miss seven days altogether, and they have to be passing their classes.”

The final week of the school year will start with Pre-K through third grade students will visit the Abilene Zoo on Monday, May 23. The day will include lunch at Nelson Park and time to play at the park’s splash pad. Hise said students must bring a change of clothes to be allowed to play in the water.

The sixth through 12th grade awards banquet will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 24 at the gym. Hise requests that those planning to attend RSVP by calling the school office at 325-945-3101.

The Moran FFA banquet is set for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 25 at Moran Events Center.

A field day is planned on Thursday, May 26, followed by kindergarten and eighth grade graduation at 6:00 p.m. in the gym.
