Shackelford County elected officials are combing through three IT bids opened Monday, Feb. 24, with plans to meet with each vendor separately in the next couple of weeks before making a decision.

Sealed bids were received from Computer Transition Services Inc., Tolar Systems, and Goldsmith Solutions, the current vendor.

Consultation meetings  with representatives of the companies have already been posted for March 5-6, with plans to vote at the next regular meeting on Monday, March 9, according to county judge Robert Skelton.

Other Business

•After a large number of political signs were placed and then removed from the Courthouse Square last week, Skelton is in the process of having attorneys formulate a formal order that will prohibit signs except for nonprofit entities with county permission.

•Tracy Sullivan and several others requested that the commissioners consider a monthly commitment for the new Senior Citizen Activity Center, with action tabled until the next meeting.

•A contract was approved with Allison, Bass & Magee for required county redistricting assistance after the 2020 census, with a flat rate/fixed fee of $15,000 divided into three payments, the first of which will probably come out of this year’s budget.

•Commissioners voted to “re-key” the Courthouse doors for $530, with elected officials retaining master keys.
