Three Moran High School students qualified for UIL academic regional competition based on their results Wednesday, March 22 at the District 13-1A meet at Eula.

Tyler Waddell finished first in Social Studies, with Terra Thompson in Computer Applications and Ellis Hise in Mathematics advancing after placing second.

The Region II-1A meet will be April 21-22 at San Angelo.

Also competing at the district contest were Jayla Bussell, Chase Murk, Connor Hail, Zech Henderson, Caleb York, Daphanie Crews, Samantha Hinkle, and Emily Murk.

Moran’s chapter of the National Honor Society has two events planned for next week.

A blood drive is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Monday, April 3 in the school parking lot.

At 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, the chapter will hold induction ceremonies at the Moran Events Center.

One More Time

Moran’s One Act Play cast and crew will present a public performance its production of “Little Women” at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the high school auditorium.

Moran advanced to bi-district competition earlier this month with its result at the District 13-1A contest.

Say Cheese

Moran will take spring pictures during the school day on Tuesday.

Hoppy Easter

On Thursday, April 6, Moran will hold Breakfast with the Easter Bunny for elementary students.

“This will be like when we did Breakfast with Santa,” Moran principal Jo Hise said. “Students can come up and see the Easter Bunny.”

Following the breakfast, Pre-K through third grade students will have their Easter egg hunt.

Thursday is also the final day of the fifth six weeks.
