Two new teachers were hired and two resignations accepted during an early morning meeting of the Albany ISD trustees.

Longtime local educator Sara Wilson submitted her resignation effective at the end of this school year, as did Audrey Faith, who has been at Nancy Smith Elementary School.

Hired for Wilson’s special education position was Missy Dutchover of Stamford, while Michelle Lowrey of Graham was offered the position of junior high science.

Dutchover has been teaching and coaching for 23 years, while Lowrey is a 16-year veteran in the classroom.

Also announced this week was the reassignment of agri-business teacher Michaela Bradford, who will move to the role of secondary counselor.

The current counselor, Jenny Scott, will continue to serve as district librarian and will also take the responsibilities of CTE coordinator.

The district is still looking to fill several vacant positions.
