14 Albany students attend FCA camp

The Big Country Fellowship of Christian Athletes conducted its summer Leadership Camp recently at Hardin-Simmons University with 14 attendees from Albany taking part.
Local FCA representative Paul Johnston said the camp, which started June 13 and wrapped up June 17, “was a great experience.”
“We had about 180 young people there, 60 of them from my area,” Johnston said. “There were several decisions that were made. The kids had a lot of fun, learned a lot about the Bible, and learned a lot about how to apply it to daily life.”
Johnston said the Albany participants helped present a number of programs during the week-long camp.
“They learned how to be better leaders on campus and what it takes to be a faithful servant,” he said.
Johnston represents an area covering 10 counties that includes more than two dozen schools ranging from Knox City to Olney to Cross Plains.
“I’m back on the road, going to schools and talking to kids and coaches every day,” he said.
