The Albany Athletic Booster Club is selling raffle tickets for a custom autographed football commemorating Albany’s 2022 Class 2A Division II state championship.

The raffle is to raise money for the project to place monuments celebrating the school’s three state football titles at Robert Nail Memorial Stadium.

Tickets are $20 each or five for $100. To purchase tickets, visit the Booster Club’s website (www.albanyathleticboosterclub.com) and click on the link under Featured
Items.

The ball was designed by David Waller with the Albany Lions logo on one white panel and “2022 CLASS 2A DIVISION II STATE CHAMPIONS ALBANY LIONS” in red on the other.

The ball was signed by varsity players (seniors signed in red), coaches, and cheerleaders.

Lions head coach Denney Faith donated the ball to the Booster Club at the athletic awards banquet in May.

Sales will continue until Wednesday, June 21, with the drawing to be held at that night’s Booster Club meeting.

Booster Club officer Amanda Tabor said approximately $1,500 worth of tickets have been sold as of Tuesday, June 13.

Without the proceed from the raffle, the monument fund now stands at approximately $32,000. The goal is $50,000 for three 6-foot by 6-foot monuments honoring Albany’s state champions of 1960, 1961 and 2022. The Lions ended the 61-year title drought on Dec. 14 with a 41-21 victory over Mart in the championship game at AT&T Stadium. It was Albany’s first championship under Faith, who has guided the program to five finals appearances in 36 season as head coach.

Coy Lefevre scored four touchdowns to earn Offensive MVP, while Wyatt Windham was named Defensive MVP after making 17 tackles.
