Fans of Albany Lions and Lady Lions athletics will get to meet members of fall sports teams for football, volleyball, and cross country Monday, Aug. 8 at the Albany Athletic Booster Club’s Ice Cream Supper at the Bank Park.

Food will be served at 6:30 p.m. with player introductions starting at 7:00 p.m.

“Folks need to bring their own chairs,” Booster Club member Amanda Tabor said. “We’re not going to have the tables set up. It’ll be more picnic style so people can stand and move around.”

Hamburger meals, which include chips, a drink, and ice cream, may be purchased for $10.

“We did need to go up on the price,” Tabor said.

In addition to the meal, Tabor said team T-shirts for football, volleyball and cross country will be available for purchase.

“It’s first-come, first-served for those,” Tabor said. “Our spirit shop coordinator, Cari Heatly, has made sure there’s youth and toddler sizes all the way up to 3X and 4X. We have something for everybody.”

Tabor said purchases may be paid by credit card this year.

In addition to player introductions, attendees of the Little Cubs Cheer Camp will perform routines.

“The cheerleaders will take orders for athlete buttons,” Tabor said.

Tabor said the Booster Club is seeking volunteers to help with the event.

“If anybody wants to help or donate, contact Kristie Smith at 281-772-9698,” Tabor said. She’s our Ice Cream Supper coordinator, and she’s done a fabulous job.”
