NSES track- field day set

Students at Nancy Smith Elementary School will have a day to run and jump Tuesday, May 23, at the annual track meet and field day.

Principal John Gallagher said the events are being combined into one day this year after being held separately in 2022.

Gallagher said students should report to school as normal before being bused to the high school track at 9:00 a.m.

Gallagher said lunch will be provided at the track with students being bused to Webb Park for the rest of the day following the meal.

“We’ll have additional field day activities at the park, including a giant kickball game, inflatable bounce houses, a dunk tank, and a few other fun activities,” he said.

The city pool will not be open during the event.

The principal said parents may pick up their children at the park as long as they check in with a teacher.

“We’ll be at the park until about 2:00 p.m.,” he said. “Then we’ll have our normal dismissal schedule, and buses will run at the usual time.”
