The Centennial Classic to mark 100 years at Albany Golf Club
Albany Golf Club will mark its 100th anniversary next month with the Centennial Classic, a special Father’s Day weekend tournament set for June 14–15. The event will celebrate a century of local golf history with a competitive scramble, Saturday night gathering, and a recreation of a historic club photo.
The tournament will follow a 3-person scramble format, with an entry fee of $375 per team. Each player will receive one mulligan per day, and teams will be flighted after Saturday’s round. Morning (8:30 a.m.) and afternoon (1:30 p.m.) tee times are available. Saturday evening will include a meal, Calcutta, and raffles.
All current Albany Golf Club members are encouraged to be present on Saturday for a group photo in front of the clubhouse, similar to the image taken of members in the 1920s. The photo will be taken between the morning and afternoon flights.
The club first opened in 1925, established by local businessmen, oil men and ranchers who built a course on the edge of town. Over the past 100 years, AGC has remained a central part of the Albany community, hosting generations of golfers and countless tournaments.
