Old Jail Art Center to open summer exhibitions Saturday
With June underway, the Old Jail Art Center is preparing to launch two new exhibitions that will carry visitors through the summer months.
Opening Saturday, June 7, the 2025 Summer Exhibitions feature work by Texas painter Bob Stuth-Wade and Dallas-based sculptor Saba Besier. The exhibitions will remain on display through September 6.
Stuth-Wade’s show, Capturing Landscapes, highlights decades of work inspired by the Big Bend region, the Colorado River, and other familiar Texas views. His process often begins in the field with quick studies that later grow into larger paintings in his Dublin, Texas studio.
Saba Besier’s show, Deep Resilience, features porcelain sculptures inspired by ocean life. Born in Pakistan and now based in Dallas, she uses her background in ceramics and metalwork to create detailed pieces that reflect both the beauty of the sea and the environmental stress threatening marine ecosystems.
The museum encourages visitors of all ages to view the new work beginning this weekend. For more information, contact the Old Jail Art Center at (325) 762-2269 or visit www.theojac.org.
