By Sam Waller

Mothers Day Out childcare program begins its new year Friday, Sept. 8 with a full enrollment.

Director Meg Walser, who previously served as a teacher for several years, said 20 children ages 1 to 5 will meet 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Mondays and Fridays at Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church.

“We’re going to do Bible study on Mondays and music on Fridays,” she said. “We’ll go monthly to the library for story time. The teachers follow the curriculum and have activities planned.”

Carley Howard will teach the 4-5 age group with Nancy Hill as her teacher’s aide. Erin Shack will teach 3-year-olds with Alycia Smith assisting. The 1- and 2-year-olds will be taught by Cheyenne Harbold with Joanna Kirby as teacher’s aide.

While enrollment is currently full, Walser said a waiting list is being prepared.

“If anybody is interested in getting on the waiting list, they can contact me,” she said.

Walser can be contacted through Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church at 325-762-2038.

The program follows the Albany ISD calendar.

“All the holidays and closings will be the same as the school,” Walser said.
