First Baptist Church of Albany is offering a Parents Night Out childcare program once a month starting Saturday, Sept. 16.

The program offers a fun-filled night for children six weeks old through sixth grade.

“Kids can come and eat and play games while the parents enjoy some time, whether a date night or just some time to get some things done without the kids underfoot,” FBC children’s minister Ginger Bumguardner said.

Reservations are required by noon each Tuesday prior to the date by calling Bumguardner at 325-660-5420. The cost is $20 for the first child, $20 for the second child, and a family maximum cost of $40.

Children can bring a sack supper or the church can provide dinner for an extra $5 per 5-year-old and up. Children 4 years old and under eat free.

Times are 5:30-10:30 p.m., which Bumguardner said should allow parents time for dinner and a movie in Abilene.

Dates are Sept. 16, Oct. 14, Nov. 11, Dec. 9, Jan. 13, Feb. 10, April 13, and May 11. There will not be a night in March because of spring break.

Space is limited, so parents must call for reservations, Bumguardner said.

“We will operate on a 1-to-10 ratio of workers to children,” she said. “We will have adults and high school age youth workers for K-6. And adults will be working with the babies to 4-year-olds.”
