Brookshire’s gives $1,100 to ResourceCare

By David H. Waller

Brookshire’s grocery store in Albany has made a generous donation of $1,100 to ResourceCare Community Health Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive healthcare services to underserved individuals in the area.

The funds were raised through Brookshire Grocery Company’s annual community campaigns, including the inaugural Compassion in Action Food Drive, held in June, and the long-running Spirit of Christmas Food Drive, which marked its 43rd year. Together, the campaigns raised significant funds to support local food pantries and nonprofits across the region, with the Spirit of Christmas campaign alone bringing in nearly $345,000 for charity.

In Albany, ResourceCare was chosen as the recipient of Brookshire’s local efforts. ResourceCare, which provides medical, dental, and behavioral health services, plans to use the donation to continue meeting the needs of the community.

“We’re incredibly grateful for Brookshire’s generous support and their commitment to helping our community,” said Mindy Ary, Program and Marketing Director at ResourceCare. “This donation will go a long way in helping us provide vital services to individuals and families.”

Brookshire Grocery Company emphasized their commitment to giving back to the communities they serve. “Our loyal customers give graciously every year, and we are incredibly grateful for their generosity, especially during the holiday season,” the company stated in their press release.
