Annual crawfish boil set for next week

The Albany Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Membership Crawfish Boil and Fish Fry next Thursday, April 17, with the event set to begin at 6:00 p.m. in the front parking lot of the Chamber building.
This year’s dinner will feature a full spread, including boiled crawfish and shrimp, fried fish, and all the fixings. Homemade onion rings will once again be served by the Happy Grill food truck.
For families bringing children, a kids play area will be set up on site to give the youngest attendees something fun to enjoy while parents catch up over dinner.
“We’re looking forward to a great evening with plenty of food and fellowship,” said Chamber manager Brandi Lehew. “The crawfish are ready to go, and we’re hoping to see our biggest turnout yet.”
In case of bad weather, the event will move to The Feed Store.
Lehew said the response to this year’s membership letters, which were sent out in January, has been strong, and the event serves as a way to thank members and encourage new participation.
“We’ve had a great response so far, and we want everyone to feel welcome,” she said. “Whether you’re a longtime member or someone thinking about joining, come on out and be part of it.”
Chamber memberships can be renewed at the event, and new members are welcome to join on site. Dues are $75 per year for individuals and families, $50 for retired citizens, and between $150 and $300 for businesses depending on employee count. Non-profit organizations may join for $50.
“Come for the food, stay for the fun,” Lehew said. “It’s always a great time to connect with neighbors and support the Chamber’s efforts throughout the year.”
