MISD’s Spring Fling slated today

Moran ISD will hold a Spring Fling on Thursday, April 1 at the football field. 

A meal of hamburgers and hot dogs will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m., followed by activities hosted by the various grades from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

Classes will sponsor a silent auction, cake walk, pie spin, ring toss, hole-in-one golf, corn hole, duck pond, leap frog, punch-a-cup, grab bag, and caterpillar toss.

There also will be a raffle for an autographed Dallas Cowboy helmet.

UIL Qualifiers

Moran students competed in the UIL Academic District meet on Wednesday, March 24.

Due to COVID concerns, all contests were held at each individual home campus, with the exception of speaking events which were held at Eula CISD.

Aspen Box and Johnnie Hise both qualified for regionals in their individual events.

Box advanced in Spelling and Vocabulary and Hise advanced in Ready Writing. 

The students will compete at Angelo State University in San Angelo on April 16 and 17. 

Emily Murk placed sixth in prose but will not advance as only the top three places move on to regionals.

Students also participating at district were Dariann Hawley, Chloe Hendrick, and Samantha Hinkle. 

Easter Holiday

Moran ISD will dismiss for the Easter holiday at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 1.

School will resume at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, April 5.
