The Austin band Shinyribs has built a reputation of presenting high energy shows that include a variety of music genres.

“Shinyribs is a unique band of 9 to 10 members who have been featured by Austin City Limits on several occasions,” said Albany Live president Michaela Smith. “They have a very large fan base, so we expect another sellout.”

Shinyribs defies genres as a sonic melting pot of Texas Blues, New OrleansR&Bfunk,horn-drivenMemphis Soul, countrytwang, bordermusic, big band swing, and roots-rock, according to the group’s website.

The group is led by Kevin Russell, thecharismaticfrontmanwithcolorful suits and extravagant shoes who continuously swaps out an electric guitar for a ukulele and never falls short of creating a cinematic experience with on-stage antics that often include him donning a light-up cloak or leading a conga line through the crowd.

James McMurtry’s concert is anticipated to also be a sellout. McMurtry, the son of famed author Larry McMurtry, is a Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter.

“Tickets are selling fast for James McMurtry,” Smith said. “We encourage anyone interested in attending to get tickets sooner rather than later.”

A cash bar will be available to all ticketholdersduringperformances.
