Local parents are reminded that summer reading at the Shackelford County Library is continuing throughout the summer on Tuesday afternoons.

Members of the Albany Study Club, who annually sponsor a reading program during the month of June, decided to extend the project until school starts, changing the time from Tuesday morning to Tuesday afternoons at 2:00 p.m.

Children from the ages of two to four (with an adult) and kindergarten to fourth grade are encouraged to attend.

The weekly program lasts for one hour, with crafts included each week along with a reading time.

Participants are encouraged to check out books, but must have access to a library card.

The Shackelford County Library is open to the public from 12:00 noon to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday; 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday; and 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

The library is located at 402 N. 2nd, and can be contacted at 762-2672.
