Weekly golf scrambles resume

By Lynsi Musselman

With summer arriving and state restrictions easing up, golf in Albany is getting back into full swing.

The annual Father’s Day golf tournament will take place June 20-21, after many wondered if it would get to be played at all.

Tee times on Saturday include morning spots at 8:30 a.m. and afternoon tee offs at 1:30 p.m.

The tournament will have a three-person scramble format, and the tournament fee is $210 per team.

James Waters with the Albany Golf Club said no meal will be provided this year to reduce large gatherings indoors.

Those who wish to enter the tournament or rent a golf cart can contact Waters at 325-627-3598.

Waters added that there are already about 20 teams that have signed up for the tournament, and reserving a golf cart needs to be done ahead of time because carts will be limited.

Weekly Scramble

The club’s weekly  scrambles start Wednesday, June 3.

The scrambles are played each Wednesday evening in the summer. Golfers need to gather at 5:00 p.m. for the 5:30 p.m. start time.

The Wednesday scrambles entry fees are $10 for club members and $15 for non-members.
