Volunteers needed for concessions

The Albany track teams are hosting a high school track meet today, and as of press time, volunteers were still needed to help run the concession stand.

Tracksters, coaches, parents, and fans from eight area schools are visiting in Albany today, and many of those will eat at the concession stand.

The Booster Club served about 800 school meal deals to participants at Monday’s junior high meet, and they expect today to be busy as well.

“We need everyone’s help, even if your child doesn’t participate in track and/or field events,” said Athletic Booster Club secretary Tisha Wilkins. “Money raised from the concession stand will go back to the Athletic Booster Club which provides funds for all sports and cheerleaders in junior high and high school.”

Those who did not receive the email signup request from Wilkins last week can still access the “Signup Genius” link from the Club’s Facebook page or contact Wilkins at 325-660-7443 to see where assistance is still needed.

As of press time, hamburger and hot dog grillers were being sought. Concession stand workers were also needed for the 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. to closing time slots.
