Family and friends gathered at the Red Brick Rose in Graham, Texas on May 30, 2020 to celebrate the marriage of Rachel Viertel and Timothy Williams. The bride’s grandfather, Arthur Lee Viertel, officiated the ceremony. Kyle and Mark Viertel, uncles of the bride, along with her father John Viertel, offered prayers during the ceremony, adding a special touch to the service.

The bride is the daughter of John and Ladonna Viertel of Moran. Tim is the son of Rachelle Sanchez of Ballinger.

Garlands of silk peonies and candle-filled lanterns lined the aisle of the venue. The couple stood before a garland-laden ornamental backdrop which was flanked by Boston ferns and candelabra on each side.

Joni Viertel Perez served as her sister’s matron of honor while Amber Viertel and Georgia Viertel, sisters-in-law of the bride, were additional attendants.

Brian Perez served as best man. Timothy Williams Jr., son of the groom, attended his father along with Carter and Cooper Carrion, cousins of the bride.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white strapless MoriLee gown in a mermaid trumpet silhouette. Small folds of ruching enhanced the appliqued tulle of the gown which featured a sweetheart neckline and a drop waist, accented by silver pearls and rhinestones on white flowers attached on the lower left of the fit-and-flare design.

The bride also wore a finger-tip veil lined with appliqued flowers and small rhinestones. Rachel carried a silk bouquet of sage-colored greenery, blush-pink ranunculas, cream-colored anemones, cherry blossoms, and assorted small flowers.

The bride’s attendants wore varying shades of sage green in complimentary knee-length dresses and cowboy boots. They carried bouquets of sage-colored greenery, blush-pink anemones and cream ranunculas.

The groom wore a light gray patterned western shirt accented by a boutonniere of small roses and greenery in bullet shells.

The best man and the groom’s son wore matching buff-colored western shirts and boutonnieres which matched the groom’s. Junior attendants Carter and Cooper Carrion wore similar western shirts and matching boutonnieres.

Other attendants in the party were Kelsey and Kayley Carrion, cousins of the bride, who served as flower girls. Sophie Hubbard, niece of the groom, carried a sign reading “Uncle Tim, Here Comes Your Bride.” All three girls wore cowboy boots and matching cream-colored lace applique dresses with scalloped edging.

Nephew M.J. Hubbard served as Ring Security, complete in dark sunglasses and earpiece. He was followed by Finn Vier-tel and Conner Carrion, who carried small glass boxes holding the rings. M.J., Finn, and Conner wore white shirts, black suspenders, and blush pink bow ties.

At the conclusion of the wedding ceremony, junior attendant Sophie Hubbard turned her sign around to read “And they lived happily ever after.”

Following the ceremony, a brisket and chicken meal with all the trimmings was served on plates trimmed in rose gold. Cutlery and stemware matched the serving plates. Cream tablecloths covered the tables which were decorated with twine-covered bottles and various vases, all filled with eucalyptus, anemones, and sage green and buff-colored daisies situated upon mesquite disks. Votive candles were also on display on the tables as well as long wooden boxes filled with greenery, baby’s breath, and flowers in blush pink, sage green, buff, and cream. All decorations for the ceremony and dinner were created by aunts of the bride, Sherry and Karen Viertel.

A three-tiered cream cake in a ruffle design sat upon a table covered in an heirloom tablecloth crocheted by the bride’s maternal great-grandmother. Blush pink ranunculas with seed-pearl centers cascaded down the side of the cake which was topped with intertwined hearts. Each layer of the cake was trimmed in seed pearls made of icing.

Rachel is a 2005 graduate of Richland High School in North Richland Hills and has been employed most recently in the oil and gas industry. Tim attended high school in Ballinger, Texas and has been employed in the oil and gas industry as well. They are making their home in Albany.
