The Albany Ministerial Alliance sponsored Vacation Bible School began this summer’s “Destination Dig” on Sunday, July 25 and wrapped up the program on Wednesday, July 28.

The Wednesday night program included a “Family Night,” hot dog supper, and swimming.

Multiple drawings for prizes were done at the pool for both adults and children.

Parents had the opportunity to win one of five $150 Walmart gift cards for back to school shopping.

One student won a free snow cone every day for the rest of the summer.

Over 100 children attended the program the first couple of nights, which is an increase of around 30 from last year’s program.

“Everything has gone smoothly this year,” director Betsy Spraberry said.

According to Spraberry, 30 volunteers from various churches made the 2021 program possible.

This is the third consecutive that year that the Alliance has held VBS in the evening instead of during the daytime hours.

“We just want to thank all parents for allowing us to love on their children and teach them about Jesus,” Spraberry said.
