Members of local Cub Scout Troup 225 recently collected mittens, hats/toboggans, and scarfs to donate to Closet Angels.

“The entire pack was involved in gathering the items,” said new Cubmaster Jacey Shack. “We have 15 Cub Scouts, including both boys and girls, and ranging in age from kindergarten to fifth grade.”

According to the Cubmaster, the Cub Scouts asked friends and family members for donations, and most of the items were brand new.

This Monday afternoon Scouts Jacob Shack, Howdy Hefner, and Lan-don Herrell delivered the pack’s donations to volunteers at the clothing ministry.

“We are looking to grow and get more involved in the community,” said Jacey Shack.

Holiday Schedule

Closet Angels will be closed over the school Christmas break so that the volunteers can have time with their children, grandchildren, and other family members.

In addition, Closet Angels will not be open this Saturday, Dec. 14, due to scheduling conflicts.

The only day that the clothing ministry will be open during the last few weeks of the year will be on Monday, Dec. 16, when they will be open during their regular Monday hours of 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m.

“Plan ahead and come and get what you need, especially clothes, sheets, and blankets, when we are open on the 16th,” said director Lori Reames. “We won’t be open again until the first Monday in January.”

Closet Angels will be open from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. on Jan. 6, and from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Saturday, Jan. 11 (the second Saturday of the month.)
