No local organizations have responded to Albany High School’s request to contact Ann Riley in the AHS office about upcoming scholarships to be given to seniors at the May 24 graduation exercises.

Riley asked that representatives call her at 762-3974 by this Friday, April 5 to update scholarship plans for 2019. The original request date for information was March 20, more than two weeks ago.

As of Tuesday, she hadn’t heard from anyone.

“I need to know if your organization intends to give a scholarship this year, and also, if you gave one last year and don’t plan to participate this year,” said Riley.

The scholarship list has already been uploaded to the district’s website and distributed to local seniors informing them of the requirements for specific scholarships, based on what was given last year.

The seniors must  turn in application letters by Friday, April 12, Riley stated.

The packets of letters will be organized and ready for representatives of the organizations to pick up by 12:00 noon on Monday, April 15, and then the organizations should notify the school concerning their selections by Monday, April 22.

“We’ve already started the process, but I would really appreciate it if representatives of all the organizations would let us know what their definite plans are as far as the amount and number of scholarships they plan to give this year,” Riley continued.
