Representatives of local organizations and boards that award scholarships to Albany High School graduates are asked to contact Ann Riley at the AHS office by Wednesday, March 20.

The office will be closed next week for spring break, but will be open again for regular hours on Monday, March 18.

Riley added that the scholarship list will be uploaded to the district’s website and distributed to local seniors by Monday, March 25 informing them of the requirements for specific scholarships.

“Some scholarships have a form the student needs to fill out; others require a letter,” Riley said.

The seniors must then  turn in their application letters by Friday, April 12, Riley stated.

The packets of letters will be organized and ready for representatives of the organizations to pick up by 12:00 noon on Monday, April 15, and then the organizations should notify the school concerning their selections by Monday, April 22.

“We would really appreciate it if representatives of all the organizations would let us know what their plans are as far as the amount and number of scholarships they plan to give this year,” Riley continued. “We try to call as many as we can, but we don’t always have a contact person.”

If organizations gave an award last year, but they don’t plan to give in 2019, a representative is asked to call Riley with that information.

The AHS office number is 762-3974.
