Plans finalized for Truck Show
The third annual Shifters Truck Show is set for Saturday, Sept. 22, and everyone is invited to come downtown and peer into the past reflected in polished chrome on vintage trucks in the competition, as well as those on display in the Flying A Car Museum and nearby streets.
Entry fees for the competition are $20 per vehicle, and spectators can roam the lots, streets, and museum for free.
“Check out some cool rides,” said organizer Robert Snyder. “People have really seemed to like the truck show, so we are looking forward to a great day.”
The competition is open to all types of trucks manufactured in 1987 or earlier.
“We’ll welcome anything that could be classified as a truck,” said Snyder. “Entries can be pickups, flat beds, hot rods, rat rods, 4x4s, panel trucks, Model Ts, classics, customs, or old bed trucks.”
Registration will take place from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. on the day of the show, and judging will begin shortly after 11:00 a.m.
Door prizes for the event have been supplied by Albany Eagle Auto Parts.
Trophies will be awarded in several categories including Best of Show and Peoples Choice.
“This is only our third year,” Snyder said, “and we’re hoping that the show will continue to grow.”
