The Texas A&M Agri-Life Extension Service in Callahan and Shackelford Counties are partnering together to conduct a private pesticide applicator training session on Monday, May 13 in Baird, with a deadline of this Friday.

The training will be at the Callahan County extension office at 100 West 4th Street, Suite 201.

Registration begins at 5:30 p.m., and the training will start at 6:00 p.m., but participants must pre-register by Friday, May 3, according to Shackelford County extension agent Michaela Bradford.

“We need to be able to get all of the study material ordered,” she said.

Individual registration is $50 and includes all the required study material.

To register and for more information, contact the AgriLife Extension office in Callahan County at 325-854-5835 or in Shackelford County at 325-762-2232.

“The training is specifically for those seeking a Texas Department of Agriculture private applicator license and is not a continuing education unit training,” Bradford said. “The license is required to buy and apply restricted-use/state limited use herbicides and pesticides.”

The Texas Department of Agriculture requires this training prior to being tested for a private applicator pesticide license, also issued through the agency.
