One-act cast prepares for district contest

Albany High School’s theater troupe performed The Fourth Ward by Amanda Guthrie at a one-act play (OAP) festival in Clyde on Thursday, Feb. 14.

“The festival went well, and we got a lot of good feedback in our critiques,” said co-director Jenny Scott. “There is no placing at festivals. It is really a time to show where your production currently stands and get constructive feedback on what to improve on prior to the district contest.”

Scott said that they have already implemented a few of the suggested changes.

“We adjusted the set, which has resulted in adjusting the blocking in certain scenes as well,” the director said. “Our cast and crew are great to work with, and have been putting in a lot of hours to make sure we are ready for the competition.”

The 2A District 8 OAP meet is in Stamford on Wednesday, March 6.

A free public performance of the play will be given at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, in the AHS auditorium.

Cast members are Kam Browning, Jackson Chapman, Susie Cormack, Cutter Cowart, Cameron Dacus, Braden Davis, Bryson Davis, Seth Hale, Alayna Koemel, Caroline Masters, B.J. Morris, Cydney Nelson, Haley Stewart, Hannah Trail, and William Webb.

Alternates are Chris Hensley, Gerardo Rodriguez, and Tana Thompson.

Crew members include Zion Belisle, Kade Everitt, Riley Green, Brooks Neece, and Taylor Scott.

Directors are Jenny Scott and Jonathan Scott.
