Adult participants are invited to bring their favorite bottle of wine or beverage to the Old Jail Art Center next Thursday, April 18, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and leave with an encaustic painting that they create during the workshop.

Each third Thursday of the school year, adult visitors are invited to try out a new art medium in a casual workshop environment under the instruction of an experienced art educator.

Encaustic painting is also known as “hot wax painting.”

“Bring your favorite bottle of wine or beverage, invite your friends, and follow along with an experienced instructor as you create a beautiful encaustic painting,” said education director Erin Whitmore.

Registration is $15 for OJAC members, or $20 for non-members, and all of the needed supplies are provided.

For more information or to register, call 325-762-2936 or 325-762-2269. Registration is also available at the museum’s website, theojac.org.
