Four directors were re-elected to another term and plans made for the 2020 show during the annual membership meeting of the Fort Griffin Fandangle Association held Tuesday night, Oct. 8.

Fandangle veteran and longtime director Lanham Martin stepped down as president after one term but will remain an active member of the board.

“Living in Moran, it was just too hard to take care of details like signing checks at the last minute and coming over for minor emergencies,” said Martin. “The president needs to be someone who’s here in town during the day.”

Branch Bartee was elected to serve as president for the next year.

The other two officers will continue to serve – Cody Leech as vice president and Shelly Bartee as treasurer. Lauren Willen is secretary of the board.

Meeting Details

A motion was made to perform a show in 2020, which will be the Fandangle’s 82nd anniversary.

Board members whose terms are now extended to 2022 are Treca Edington, Branch Bartee, Cori Bezner, and Bucky Nail.

Other directors are John Ayers, Shelly Bartee, Cody Leech, Lanham Martin, Lesley Jones, Dustin Parsons, Lauren Willen, and Henry Musselman.

Chris Beard serves as an advisor.

After the elections, artistic director Lorna Ayers reported on the success of the 2019 show.
