Students in the Moran Independent School District are finishing junior high University Interscholastic League academic contests on Thursday, Dec. 12, and then have an optional/required fifth day on Friday, Dec. 13.

Classes will release at 12:00 noon on Dec. 13.

Last week, children from Moran attended the annual puppet shows at the Old Jail Art Center in Albany, and more Christmas time activities are planned over the next few days.

PTO Holiday Meal

Saturday, Dec. 14, at 6:00 p.m. the Moran Parent Teacher Organization will host its annual holiday meal at the school cafeteria.

The meal is free and open to the community, but attendees are encouraged to RSVP by calling the school so that the cooks have an idea of how much food to prepare.

End of Fall Semester

Teachers are busy decorating their classrooms for the holiday season and preparing for the end of the third sixth weeks of classes, which will be on Friday, Dec. 20.

The final day of the fall semester, Dec. 20, will include breakfast with Santa in the morning and release from school at the usual time that afternoon.

Christmas Break

Students at MISD will be off for a two-week Christmas vacation from Dec. 23 to Jan. 3.

Staff members have a comp day scheduled for Friday, Jan. 3.

Classes resume on Monday, Jan. 6 at the usual time.

An optional/required fifth day is set for Friday, Jan. 17, followed by a school holiday on Monday, Jan. 20 for MLK Day.
