The City of Moran, along with much of the State of Texas and other states across the nation, reopened after the recent coronavirus shutdowns.

Moran City Hall opened its doors to the public last week on Monday, May 4.

“The first week of the month is typically busy with bills coming in, but most people are still using the drop box,” said city employee Teresa King.

Donnie Edgar with DA’s said his facility opened this past weekend.

“We will continue to serve plates of food on Friday and Saturday at 4:00 p.m. until we run out,” Edgar said.

Edgar noted they will wait to see what happens over the next couple of weeks to decide if they will open more days.

 Community Garden

Hot peppers, bell peppers, tomatoes, and corn were planted last week in the Moran community garden.

King will plant okra, green beans, and cucumbers this week.

The garden is located at the southeast corner of Putnum Road and Woodrow Boulevard.
