Moran church hoping to hold service

The community of Moran continues to adjust to social distancing and everyday life as the pandemic continues.

There are still no positive cases of COVID-19 in Moran or Shackelford County as of Tuesday, April 21. The disaster declaration issued on April 3 is still in effect.

Moran City Hall remains closed to walk-in traffic, but most business can be conducted through the drop box at the front door. 

“We can receive cash payments and slip change back through the door slot, Karen Bishop said.

City Hall is open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. For emergency water and sewer issues, call 325-762-0643.

 Local Ministries

Moran First Baptist Church is hoping to have an indoor service by this Sunday. 

Member Jo Hise said depending on what the governor says in his next announcement, the church may go back to the regular Sunday schedule.  

 Moran FBC’s regular schedule is Sunday school at 10:00 a.m. and worship service at 11:00 a.m.    

Community Garden

The community garden now has a few flowers in the ground and is ready for seeds to plant. 

Participants are reminded to practice social distancing, staying at least six feet apart, when at the garden location.

   Local Business

The Pizza Mark is now selling groceries, as well as to-go orders. 

Owner Cyrilla Mark said they receive a shipment of their normal groceries every two weeks. She has ordered a few extra items such as ramen noodles, toilet paper, and milk during the quarantine.
