Members of the Albany softball board will hold a fundraiser this weekend at the First Baptist Church fellowship hall at 12:00 noon on Sunday, Feb. 10, and everyone is invited to enjoy a baked potato, fixings including butter, cheese, and sour cream, tea or water, and dessert for $8 a plate.

“Proceeds will go to our equipment fund and toward scholarships,” said board member Beth Roysdon. “FBC Albany is so nice to let us use their kitchen and fellowship hall for this fundraiser meal! Please don’t miss out.”

Dine-in or take-out options are available.

The organization is still accepting registrations.

“If kids haven’t registered yet, we can still accept them until March 9,” said board president Cynthia Smith. “We believe in ‘no kid left behind.’ If the family can’t afford the registration fee, we’ll do our best to find funds for them.”

Registration fees are $35 for the first player in a family, and $20 more for each additional sibling entered in the league.

Age levels for Albany players this year will include under-6 and under-8 (with those two age groups combined and divided into two teams), under-10 (with two teams), and under-12 and under-14 (with the two age groups combined and divided into two teams).

The games will be played in Albany and Breckenridge. The opening ceremony will be in Breckenridge on Saturday, March 9.

There will be a clean-up day at the softball field on Saturday, Feb. 16 from 1:00-3:00 p.m.

Try-outs and a draft will be held later the same afternoon.

The 6U and 8U will try-out from 3:00-4:00 p.m., the 10u from 4:00-5:00 p.m., and the 12u and 14u from 5:00-6:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16.
