Martin earns West Texas A&M degree

Elizabeth Martin of Moran was named to the President’s List at West Texas A&M University (WTAMU) for the spring 2019 semester. She graduated cum laude in May 2019 with a bachelor of science degree in psychology. 

The 2015 Moran High School graduate was a member of the Pi Gamma Mu, International Social Science Honor Society, and the Golden Key International Honour Society. 

While at WTAMU, Martin participated in intramural volleyball, serving as a resident assistant as well as a delegate on the Residence Hall Association, Psychology Club treasurer, Student Library Organization member, and representative on the Student Engagement and Leadership team.

Martin was a member of SAGE (Students Assisting in Good Endeavors), volunteering in local charities including the local Children’s Home, Special Olympics, and Habitat for Humanity, as well as the “Reading is Fun Program” at Reeves Hinger Elementary in Canyon. 

She also assisted with the organization of the Night of Faith concert and fundraisers to support the Children Miracle Network. 

Martin was active in the Baptist Student Ministry (BSM), was a member of the BSM Leadership Team & Mentoring Program, and hosted weekly Residential Hall Community Bible Studies. Through Student Missions, she served as a Texas Baptist student missionary participating in Beach Reach Ministry, Go Now Missions, and Impact Texas Missions. She was involved in mission work in Juarez, Mexico, South Padre Island, and at Mission Arlington.  

In addition, she also studied abroad in England studying British Influences on American Culture. 

Martin is the daughter of Lanham and Holly Martin of Moran.
