Local FFA students compete

Several members of the Albany chapter of the Future Farmers of America went to the Cisco College Invitational CDEs contest on Tuesday, March 19, and competed in FBM, Horse, Range Plant ID, Vet Science, and Wildlife contests, placing in several contests and winning district in both Plant ID and Wildlife.

The local FFA chapter also sent a Livestock team and a Horse team to the Tarleton Invitational CDEs on Thursday, March 21.

Practice meets help students prepare for upcoming district, area, regional, and state competitions.

Albany teams are competing in Sweetwater today, their final practice meet before district competitions for the various CDEs take place on April 8, 17, and 18.

Cisco Results

FBM

Luke Ivy, Kamryn Browning, Ty Everitt, Seth Hale, and William Webb placed 10th overall high team in Farm Business Management. They were seventh among teams from Area IV and the second place FBM team from the Big Country District. 

Ivy was the third high individual in district, Browning was fourth, and Everitt was sixth.

Horse

Lizzie Chavez, Addie Denton, Landree Connally, and Mady Connally were the third place Horse team from the Big Country District. 

Chavez was the third high individual in district. 

Range Plant ID

Braden Davis, Jackson Chapman, and Blanton Belcher made up the Range Plant ID team that placed fifth overall and second in both Area IV and in district. 

Davis, Chapman, and Belcher were ranked fifth through seventh respectively in both district and in Area IV.  

Vet Science

Placing third among Big Country District teams were Addison Asher, Alayna Koemel, Julia Bowman, and Taylor Scott.

Asher was eighth high individual in district and Koemel was 10th.

Wildlife

Blaine Kayga, Brodey Jones, Cade Neve, Bryan Jones, Ryder Wilkins, Brady Karl, Tyler Beard, and Kasey Cauble took first place team among district competitors, sixth in area, and ninth overall.

Kayga was the top individual in the Big Country District, followed by Brodey Jones in second, Neve in third, Bryan Jones in fourth, and Ryder Wilkins in fifth.

Karl, Beard, and Cauble were seventh through ninth in district repectively.

Tarleton Invitational

Livestock

Team members Morgan Garcia, Conner Clark, Carli Edgar, and Cutter Edgar were ninth among Big Country teams.

Garcia was ninth high individual in district.

Horse

Landree Connally, Lizzie Chavez, Addie Denton, and Mady Connally were the seventh place Horse team from the Big Country District. 

Landree Connally was fifth high individual in district.
