Albany school classes and sports aren’t the only events affected by Coronavirus restrictions and concerns.

Many other local activities have been suspended for at least the next two weeks, and some are completely cancelled.

The Old Jail Art Center has announced that its 40th anniversary celebration, set for March 28, will be postponed until next fall.

In addition, the museum itself is closed through the end of the month.

Among the groups most impacted are senior adults, with game days on hold until further notice.

The Shackelford County Library, where the seniors meet weekly, is closed at least this week.

The Chamber of Commerce has postponed indefinitely its March 29 Membership Crawfish Boil, and weekly lunch meetings on Fridays are also suspended.

Chamber manager Mary Beth Jones hopes to reschedule the crawfish boil if possible.

Local events and activities affected by the COVID19 constraints are listed below. If there is not a specific date, it will be until further notice. There may be other interruptions in the schedule that the News has not been notified about.

Changes in church-related activities are listed in an article on page 4A.
