Labor Day golf tournament almost full

The field is almost set for the annual Labor Day Golf Tournament sponsored by the Albany Golf Club, and those who still want to join in the competition should get their entry in quickly before all spots are gone.

“We are just about full,” said organizer James Waters on Monday afternoon. “But golfers should still call, because there may still be a spot or two available!”

Entry fees are $160 per team for the two-person scramble that takes place at the Albany Golf Course this weekend, Saturday, Sept. 1 and Sunday, Sept. 2. A brisket meal Saturday evening and one mulligan per player per day are included in the fee.

Golfers will tee off for the Saturday round either at 8:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m., then Saturday’s scores will be used to flight the teams for Sunday play.

Cash prizes will be awarded in each of the flights.
