Kiwanians plan annual golf tourney next Friday
By Kathy Thomson
Visitors, Albany High Alumni, and locals are all invited to take part in the 12th Annual Albany Kiwanis Charity/John Rose & Jim Law Memorial Golf Tournament and Fajita Fiesta at the Albany Golf Course next Friday, Sept. 27.
Funds raised by the annual event help sponsor the Albany K Charity Scholarship Fund.
The fundraiser begins at 11:00 a.m. with a Fajita Fiesta meal prepared by the Kiwanis members.
Registered golfers eat free, as do tournament sponsors. Meal tickets are available to the general public for $12 each.
The four-person scramble is $50 per golfer, and mulligans can be purchased for $10 each.
The golf tournament’s shotgun start is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
Prizes will be awarded for the longest drive, closest to the line, closest to the hole, closest to the marker, and top scoring teams.
Sponsorships for the event are available at several levels and vary from the 18-hole sponsors at $175 each up to the platinum sponsor level at $1,000. Recognition is given to all sponsors.
Sponsors who want to make sure that their names are on the advertising need to contact organizers by Monday, Sept. 23. Late sponsorships will be accepted after that, but those sponsors may not be on all the advertising.
Registrations for the tourney will be accepted until tee time as long as there are spots available.
