Homecoming royalty crowned

November Meredith and Harley Schafer were crowned Homecoming Queen and King during halftime of the Moran and Chillicothe football game at Bulldog Stadium last Friday night, Oct. 4.

Included in the homecoming court were queen nominee Raygan Mendez and king candidates Jonas Sotelo, Cody Rucker, J.T. Holland, and Andrew Farner.

Also honored as royalty were princess Baylee Orsak, prince Corey Miller, duchess Hannah Rogers, duke Braden Crow, lady-in-waiting Emily Murk, page Memphis McGough, FFA sweetheart Johnnie Hise, and FFA beau Arren Hawley.

November Meredith

November Meredith is a senior at Moran High School. 

She has played on the Lady Bulldog varsity volleyball team for four years. 

Meredith ran on the track team for Moran every year of high school, and is currently on the cross country team.

The homecoming queen has represented Moran on the tennis court, where she was district runner up in girls doubles last year.

Meredith donned the purple and gold for Moran in varsity basketball for three years.

The former cheerleader participated in UIL contests for four years.

After graduation, Meredith plans to attend college at Texas Tech University.

Meredith is the granddaughter of Rusty and Laura Gilbreath.

Harley Schafer 

Harley Schafer is the center and defensive lineman for the Bulldogs, and he helped his team advance to the playoffs two years ago. This year he is already credited with 50 tackles, five fumble recoveries, and two touchdowns. 

Schafer played football, basketball, track, and tennis throughout high school at Moran.

As a member of the Bulldog sprint and mile relay teams, he advanced to area last year, and the 4x200 relay team he was on qualified for regionals.

The homecoming king has participated in UIL for four years and was in the Moran FFA.

Schafer plans attend college to pursue a career in coaching and teaching.

Schafer is the son of Rocky Schafer and Robyn Schafer, and the grandson of Earl and Lisa McFerrin.

Coming Home Royalty

Carla Dyer and Danny Stephens were crowned Coming Home Queen and King.

Carla Dyer graduated in 1974 and lives in Cisco.

Danny Stephens graduated in 1966 and lives in Breckenridge. 

Upcoming Events

Moran has a school holiday on Columbus Day, which is this coming Monday, Oct. 14, .

On Friday, Oct. 11 the Moran elementary students will be driven to Fort Griffin to take part in Living History Days.
