Goodguys tour stops in Albany

Several participants of Hall of Fame Road Tours 2019 drove through Albany on the way from California to Fort Worth last Thursday, filling the downtown area with an assortment of vintage hot rods.

The group was met by several members of the Albany Shifters Car Club, who opened the Flying A Car Museum for a special downtown tour.

“This was part of the Hall of Fame Tour we do each year,” said Goodguys northwest event director Betsy Bennett. “We want to let people know that the best way to enjoy these cool cars is to drive them. What better way could there be than a road trip?”

The 45 vehicles on the west part of the tour started out from Pleasanton, California on Sept. 20 and arrived at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth late Thursday, Sept. 26.

They joined up there with a similar group from the eastern half of the U.S.

“Goodguys Hot Rod Cruises are designed not only to spend quality time cruising and relaxing down the highway with your buddies, but also to stop at cool places, hot rod shops, collections, and other points of interest along the way,” said Bennett.
