In spite of all the recent rain, as of press time on Tuesday the Albany Golf Club annual membership meeting and Championship Golf Tournament is still set to take place as planned at the local golf course this weekend, Oct. 20 and 21.

“We haven’t changed it yet,” said organizer Randy Walker earlier this week. “Maybe we won’t have to.”

The event begins with a hamburger meal at 12:00 noon on Saturday, and a business meeting.

Directors and officers will be selected, and then the players will tee off at 1:00 p.m.

According to James Waters, golfers will be split into two or three divisions.

“We will have a senior division, a regular division, and hopefully we will have enough women golfers participating to have a women’s division,” Waters said.

Tee time on Sunday is also set for 1:00 p.m., with 18 holes of golf scheduled on each of the two days of the tournament.

The tournament is free of charge for all Golf Club members.

A sign-up sheet is posted at the Club House.
