Revival services will take place at Friendship Baptist Church starting this Sunday, Sept. 16, at 10:55 a.m.

Regular Sunday School classes will be held at the usual time of 10:00 a.m., and then the 10:55 a.m. service will be led by guest speaker Lance Bingham.

Melissa Oden Williams will lead the music and Bingham will preach at the services on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, Sept. 16, 17, and 18, at 6:30 p.m. each evening.

Bingham is in his third year as Abilene Christian University’s head track and field/cross country coach. Previously he  coached at Liberty University.

“Lance is a coach, and he is a pretty powerful speaker,” said pastor Paul Johnston. “He was also our speaker last year.”

Bingham grew up in Meadow, a small town southwest of Lubbock. He attended South Plains college, earned his BS from Texas Tech, and his MS from Sul Ross.

While in college, he was named an All-American decathlete.

As a coach, he has helped compile multiple conference titles for both men’s and women’s track teams, and was named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Southeast Regional Men’s Assistant Coach of the Year.

“The whole community is welcome and encouraged to come to the revival,” said Johnston. “Everyone is wanted and invited.”

Child care will be provided.
