Flag football signup begins

Parents of boys and girls at Nancy Smith Elementary are encouraged to sign their children up to participate in the Albany NFL Flag Football league.

Forms for the football league were sent home with the students at Nancy Smith Elementary School and need to be returned to the front desk of NSES by Friday, Sept. 7, according to league organizer Anthony Ceder. 

Fees are $60 per child.

“Financial aid is available if needed,” said Ceder. “The registration fees includes providing a jersey, shorts, and flag football belts.”

Fall Schedule

The three age divisions are kindergarten and first grade, second and third grade, and fourth and fifth grade.

“The kindergarten and first grade division will play on Tuesday nights,” said Ceder. “Second and third graders will play four of their games on Mondays, and two of their games on Thursday nights. The fourth and fifth graders will play on Monday nights.”

Games will start the week of Sept. 24-28, and all of the games will be played in Albany, according to Ceder.

Information on the sixth grade football team was not available at press time.
