The Feed Store reopened Monday for summer hours.

The Feed Store’s normal hours will be Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Thursday hours are 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and the facility is closed Wednesday and Sunday.

On Tuesday, there was a kick-off dinner for high school students.

Feed Store youth minister Kathryn Hamilton said Tuesday was a dinner to get high school students gathered again to visit before the weekly dinner and Bible study begins.

The weekly high school dinner and Bible study will be Tuesday, June 9 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.

Hamilton said The Feed Store will be closed on Wednesday, but organizers plan to host a college ministry program every other Wednesday.

Hamilton added that Chloe Fields and Rylie Scott have been hired as summer college interns.

“We want to have a place for the college group to meet since so many are home this summer with their parents due to the coronavirus,” Hamilton said.

Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. will be set aside for a Junior High Hangout. This will be for junior high youth only.

The facility will be open on Fridays and Saturdays for normal hours, but every weekend, a Friday or Saturday night will be picked to do a movie event or pool party.

“To keep a low number of youth meeting at once, we are spacing out the days and targeting ages and genders,” Hamilton said. “We have also contacted some families willing to host pool parties during the summer since the city pool is still closed.”

Hamilton said that all junior high and high school youth are welcome to come to The Feed Store on open days to hang out, eat, or play games.

The summer hours and weekly activities will last until the beginning of August.
