Feed Store hosts seniors

This past Saturday, Albany seniors finally cele-brated one of life’s major milestones after missing out on all typical senior activities since Spring Break.

The storm clouds cleared just in time for the graduates to receive  their diplomas and step into the next stage of life.

Although in-person graduation was able to take place  after much deliberation, the traditional Project Graduation event had already been cancelled for AHS seniors.

In absence of the annual all-night celebration, funds raised earlier in the year for the event were split among the seniors, with each one given a $246 gift card with their diplomas at graduation.

In addition, seniors were invited to the Feed Store for a hamburger dinner Saturday night, hosted by board members of the facility.

The Task Force traditionally awards a senior boy and senior girl with $500 each to be given out at the end of Project Graduation. This year, the names were drawn before graduation to be presented later at the Feed Store.

The 2020 recipients are Taylor Scott and Seth Hale.

Feed Store executive director Tisha Wilkins, said Saturday night’s dinner was not attended by 100 percent of the seniors, but those who came seemed to have a great time.
