Moran Independent School District has a student holiday and a staff development/parent conference day scheduled for Monday, Sept. 30.

The second six weeks will begin Oct. 1.

Homecoming Plans

The Moran cheerleaders have planned several events to help get students into the spirit for Homecoming 2019, which takes place next Friday, Oct. 4.

Tuesday, Oct. 1, students are encouraged to dress up for Nerd Day.

Dress up days continue with Wacky Tacky Wednesday, on Oct. 2 and Mustache Day on Thursday, Oct. 3.

Everyone is asked to wear purple and gold on Friday, Oct. 4 for Spirit Day.

“The cheerleaders invite all high school students to come on Wednesday, Oct. 3 to paint the streets for homecoming,” said MISD administrative assistant Jeannie TenCate. “They will start painting at 7:30 p.m. that night. Bring your paint and brushes/rollers, and we’ll see you there!”

The homecoming pep rally will be downtown, near Moran City Hall, at 3:15 p.m. on Friday, and the mini cheerleaders are scheduled to help the junior high and high school cheerleaders lead the event.

Football games will take place in Bulldog stadium starting at 5:30 p.m. with the junior high Bulldogs taking on Chillcothe middle school, followed by the varsity game at 7:30 p.m.

Homecoming royalty will be presented during the halftime activities.

On Saturday, Oct. 5, the Lady Bulldogs will host Woodson for a 10:00 a.m. volleyball match in the Moran gym.

T-Shirt Sales

Cheer sponsor Alyson Orsak will be placing another order for “One Town One School One Family Moran Bulldogs Pride” T-shirts.

The shirts are priced at $15 and should be paid for when the order is placed.

To order the shirts, contact Orsak or the school office.

Constitution Day

“In honor of Constitution week, we had the privilege of having a couple of the Lee Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution come to our school for a flag raising ceremony,” said TenCate.

Moran students gathered around the flag pole on Friday morning, Sept. 20 to join in reading the Preamble and watching the flag raised to the top of the staff.

DAR representatives Dianne Morris and Carolynn Kennedy handed out bookmarks of the Preamble to Moran seniors.
