Local residents are invited to come to the Bank Park at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 6, to join the Albany Ministerial Alliance and millions of people across the nation in prayer for the United States.

AMA president and First Baptist Church minister Jeff Turner said the plans are to gather and pray collectively and then extend an invitation to anyone who would like to pray for the city, state, and country.

The theme chosen by the National Day of Prayer  task force for the 70th annual Day of Prayer, is “Lord Pour Out Your Love, Life, and Liberty.”

This year’s theme is based upon 2 Corinthians 3:17, Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

The National Observance of the National Day of Prayer will take place on Thursday, May 6, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Central Time at the Museum of the Bible in Washington DC.
