County youth place at Ft. Worth show

Sixteen local students showed barrows and steers at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo last week, and among the local winners were two young ladies with first place steers, according to ag teacher Chris Beard.

“We had a good show,” Beard said. “Now we’re on to San Angelo, then San Antonio and Houston.

Ft. Worth Jr. Steers

Hattie Braly won class 1, light weight Angus steers last Thursday, Feb. 7.

Kam Browning showed her American Exotic steer and took first place in the class.

JT Holland exhibited his medium weight European cross steer in class 35 on Friday, Feb. 8, to fifth place.

All three earned the right to take their steers in the auction ring for the “Sale of Champions.”

Gracie Price placed 13th in Shorthorn steers.

Also showing steers at Fort Worth were Kenzie Neve and Cade Neve.

Last Wednesday Cutter Edgar placed seventh in class 14, medium weight Hampshire barrows and Chelsy Parsons took third in class 7, Duroc barrows. 

Hannah Snyder showed her Yorkshire barrow to fifth in class 26 on Thursday, Feb. 7.

Also showing barrows at Fort Worth were Tyler Beard, Ryleigh Waters, Tye Edgar, Trey Snyder, Madison Wilkins, Devan Henson, and Susie Cormack.
